You might be looking for a cable modem. Although I know some companies do provide Cable/DSL modems I am not sure if they are available in the Philippines. I know DLink provides one. Otherwise, here in the Philippines, most rely on what the cable company can give.

Thanks for the reply Miko.

I checked the D-link web but I did not see any Fiber optic ADSL modem, can you post the link?

Here is the link to the DLink Cable modem.

You can also check Motorola's Surfboard Cable modem.

However, just as I mentioned before, I am particularly sure if they are available here since cable broadband is not that popular or that widespread yet in the Philippines. Most Cable companies also in the US go directly to the manufacturers like 2wire to make modems specifically suited for their services. Thus, most people rely on what the cable companies provide as these are usually branded also since customers do pay for them (not like in the Philippines where we get the modems for free).

Unfortunately they are not too common. I know the modem you are referring to. The closes that I can find is that of cable. Fiber optic modems are not too popular just yet. Still the standard is the use of the regular cat 5 cable between the modem and the PC.

Here are a few of those pictures.

Here is another one:

RADirect Fiber Optic Modem

Most Fiber Optic modems are used in either DIFITL or IFITL ADSL deployments abroad. Something that is not yet done in the country. So, goodluck in looking for them.

Thanks Miko for the posted picture.

Unfortunately in my previous first trial period Im linked to this kind of 9 Core Single for optical modem but when I ask the previous manufacturer via email he replied that this is not designed for the "copper >>> ADSL >>>> Direct connection to PC - uses 50-62.5 core" it is mostly used from point-to-point 9/125.

Im looking for the copper outside line (from concentrator) >>> distribution >>>
ADSL modem like ZXDSL 831 Series at ang output nya is Fiber Multimode then I will connect it to my desktop Fiber Module using extended couplings because i got only 2m patch .

The picture posted as of now is not used mainly for what were looking for.

DIFITL is main used for the complete transformation to fiber which is interconnected to Access Multiplexer which can insert hundred modules in a chassis and can distribute connectiont to dsl user of singlemode, MM can also be supported in much lower distance.

IFITL is for Digital TV, voice which is can be interconnected to DVB IP TV headend or CATV headend and distributed by means of outdoor ODF box. But most provider uses Vertical or horizontal enclosure for underground or outside lot distribution fusion box.

I appreciate the picture many thanks. If ever anyone of us got a sample picture pa including the back of the ADSL Fiber pls post it asap so we can add more

More power bayantel Angel
