Im getting connection error 651: The modem reported an error.
It will last for about and hour then after that connection resumes normally.

Are you using Windows 7? This is a known bug in Windows 7 for connections using PPPoE (meaning a PPPoE dialer).
This article might help you: Error 651 with PPPoE in Windows 7.
If you are using a different OS (like Vista or XP) try recreating the PPPoE dialer. You can follow the instructions at Do It YourSelf Troubleshooting Series: Stuff You Can Do With Your PC.

I forgot to add. It also happens when im using router (linksys wrt54g) same problem cant connect. Using ZTE zxdsl831 POWER DSL ETHERNET lights are on but not blinking during the error.
I ll post if it happens again.

If you are using a router, it should not happen since you do not need a PPPoE dialer to connect to the internet. You just need to configure your router for PPPoE. We actually have the same set up. I am using Windows 7 connected to a Linksys WRT54G router, and with a Bayan ZTE ZXDSL 831 modem (I use this basically as a back up modem, my main one is a Prolink Hurricane 3000 modem from SingTel).
Try to update also your Windows 7. I know MS released some updates that might help eliminate the error.

upto date windows 7
ngayon nagagamit ko ng maayos ung net. May time lang talaga na nawawalan.
Ginagamit ko sya normally then bigla na lang madidisconnect pag nag reconnect lalabas na ung error 651. Last week nangyari sya 2 days mag kasunod nawalan ng net 3pm - 6pm. Kahapon 10am -11am , Kagabi past 11pm nawalan mga 10 mins, Kanina 10:20am - 10:40 (approx) nawalan.
pinagpapalit ko ung connection from ppoedialer at router para ma check kung alin sa 2 ung may problem, kaso parehong hindi maka connect.

Have you reported this sa hotline? Ano sabi nila?
I have read previously in some forums about this kind of problem with Windows 7. It's duration though should have decreased with the final release of Windows 7. Although some people still report to have the problem even in the final release which gets to be fixed using the Vista raspppoe file.
Are you also using the Windows 7 provided drivers for your ethernet card? I remember when I set up mine I did not rely on the Windows 7 provided drivers for my ethernet card but rather downloaded the ones made by my motherboard's manufacturer (since I am using a built in ethernet card) -- Intel. You could also look into that.

happened again today 2:30 pm- 5:00 pm
error is: Cant get ip address from pppoe server.

Yikes... From the PPPoE dialer or from the router?
At any rate, if you get this error from the PPPoE dialer and you are directly connected to the modem, you need to contact tech support and either have a port reset or for them to check the line.

pc - modem = error 651
pc - router - modem = cant get ip address
ps3- modem - cant get ip address
called tech support, they did port reset, still no luck connecting earlier.
I was able to connect past 5pm and using it right now.
Im experiencing this almost everyday. It will last for about 10 mins to 3 hrs.
