Bless be~
I'm a globelines broadband subscriber and I may say that I'm a VERY VERY VERY VERY UNHAPPY and UNSATISFIED customer.
Now I'm thinking of switching to BayanDSL due to the good feed backs that I heard on others.

Now my question is HOW stable is BayanDSL in my area and can I expect some quality service?
Also are there any demo periods for the internet and are their any downloads limits regarding downloaded files like those in torrents?

I'm located at Sta. Ana, Manila just pass the Lambingan bridge near Puregold Kalentong.

Thank you to whoever may reply! Regards!Angel

So far, I have good experience with BayanDSL. I am not from Sta Ana though. I will not deny that I had issues at the onset. But that got fixed. And after that, it was smooth sailing.

When some international events came (like the downing of the APCN2 cable last year) while the rest of the country were having problems, I was surfing a little faster (though not at normal levels) because of some facilities of Bayan like their proxy server. They also have a very good deal of customer support. Those are what I have experienced so far...

Very general statement. However, this is not the case. It just so happens that you are experiencing problems with your connection, and that doesn't mean their service is already bad for everyone. Remember, you cannot make a general statement unless you can prove it to be the case with everyone who uses their service.

At least in my case, my experience with them has been a nice one. I have problems before but they were able to resolve it. Their customer support is also some thing that I am really enjoying. They may not be able to get things done at first try but with feedback and cooperation, they get it they do get it fixed.

As I have often stated, perhaps it is how we deal with them and how we deal with the situation that will always make or break our intended goals. Walang pupuntahan ang init ng ulo ng isang tao kung directionless ito at purposeless. There is such a thing as a righteous anger and right way of doing things.

I do have dedicated servers from Netherlands, Estonia, and United Kingdom and as far as their accessibility they are faster though even when APCN2 got kicked off with Bayantel infrastructure. And take note I am accessing them via KVM, meaning I am connecting a real desktop not just a command line server so most likely images are being transferred from my server to my computer that uses a 80% of my bandwidth, and based from that fact I did experience a little delay but that's normal.

That is if you are not a premium user because as far as I am using rapidshare premium I've got what I am bound to have.

Bayantel, Service ....... what kind of service are you talking about?

There is no service, at least no customer service.! The only service is from the guard: "Good morning Sir, payment Sir?" .....

My download-rate should be around 110 kbps but it's only < 11 kbps.

May be I should reduce my monthly payment from 3,000 to 300 PHP too ....

If you have concerns regarding your DSL service please start your own thread, post your account number and your set up and whether you have reported the problem to technical support.

Please read the rules. Thank you.

Sorry Mikos, it's not "my" DSL-Service, it's 'you'r DSL-Service and the service is bad ...

And don't worry, I know the rules. Give us what we are paying for and I will not complain .....

In this case, somebody has asked about our opinion and I have answered the question.

What's wrong with that ....?

Unfortunately, I am not from BayanDSL. I am also a subscriber like you. I hope that is clear. I can see you have been with the Forum longer than most. There are changes in the Forum, both with the way things are done here as well as with some of the rules. I suggest you glance over them again.

While the TS asked for an opinion, the focus of your post is not on the service per se but rather on the woes of your own connection. It is the same already as complaining about the service. It is in the rules that if you complain, you might as well start your own thread, and post your concerns there. It is a matter of how you stated it and where you gave the focus. If your focus is on the issues you have had with your connection, then start your own thread. If you speak in general, then by all means it would have been in line with the thread.

I do know it is not "your DSL" service. It is the service of BayanDSL. That is practically what it is for everyone. Play of words, a hermeneutical case again.

That's the question I have tried to answer. And with Bayantel you really can't expect a quality service.

Question: If you are not from Bayantel, do you realy think that Bayantel's service is good, it's a quality service?

Yes... Is this new for you? Well it is not for me. Forums have been in existence in the US. And there is a difference between a Forum and an online support. Many ISPs there have been maintaining their own Forums and their moderators are not from them or their employees but from their own subscribers. So really this is nothing new. Bayan just brought the concept here. So really there is nothing to be surprised about. In fact, it is only Bayan that has a subscriber forum to date among the ISPs here. The difference that I have seen though is that many Forums maintained by ISPs in the US are only accessible if you use a connection from the ISP maintaining the Forum. It is not accessible thru other connections. With the Bayan Forum, it is practically accessible using any connection.

I have reached that number because I am always in front of the PC and on the web. So in my spare time, I respond to the post in the Forum. I am, after all a moderator here also by virtue of my being a DSL technician before and knows how the technology works. Basically, I take care of the stuff on routers in the Forum. The DSL issues, I give advise. If it has been done, then I refer to the members who work for BayanDSL (also known as Bayan Moderators and BayanDSL Forumers, which compose the very small 2% population of the Forum). I am after all thankful they have offered their time to assist us here thru follow ups.

The answer to Rafiel's question will depend on one's experience with the service of BayanDSL. Generally, I have had good service with them and a nice experience also. It is not perfect. There are problems along the way. They may not be able to solve it immediately, but with patience, they got it solved. I have to give credit where it is due. I am not saying though that this is for everyone. I am simply saying, it depends on the experience of each one. Generally, I have met people who have experienced the same. I have seen some also complain and got their issues addressed. I have also met some who have not gotten their problems solved, but I need not comment on them as they did not involve me in the process nor did they advise me why they left. Over all though, I will say they do provide a good service comparing it to the competitor and to the previous ISP I once subscribed to.

Like I said, perhaps it is the way you stated the post. At least it is clear already. Sorry for calling your attention. We do check also how posts are aligned. At least in my case. Other moderators are not that lenient.

Sorry Mikos,

but there is no good service from Bayantel, They are to busy with themselve, talking about last weekend for example. They are asking stupid questions and they don't know ,what they are talking about. Questions like "Sir, do you have a router?" or "Sir, may be you have a virus in your system" are really not helpful. If my download-rate suddenly is going down from 100+ to 10-, then there is something wrong in the system. But instead to check it, they are asking stupid questions because they don't like to be disturbed.

I know, at least PLDT is not better, but is that reason enough to blame there customers?

Wy not something like 'Sorry Sir, we will try to check what's causing the problem." .....

So at least the custumer would have the feeling, that they are doing something ....

And to make it clear: I'm talking about these hotline-people in manila. I'm not talking about the people here in Davao and not about all there field technicians around the country. They are doing their best but the can not do anything without the 'ok' from Manila.
