Problem: High latency & slow download speed

Regarding sa download speed ko, sobrang bagal. For almost a month na ako nakakakuha ng 10kbps average download speed dati naman 80kbps average download speed ko. Then ang latency dati ng yahoo.com is around 290ms pero ngayon nasa 580ms.

More than 5 times na ako nagreport sa hotline, 3 times na ako nagsend ako ng screen shots, may pumunta na from bayantel dito sa amin last saturday pero mabagal pa rin internet connection ko!


Ano na ang update sa repair sa EAC network of subterranean cables and APCN 2 cable? Affected ba ang lahat ng bayanDSL subscribers or meron lang particular location?

Thanks for the account number and for giving us the specifics.
May I know what speed are you getting from www.speedtest.net with Quezon City as the test server? That way I would also know what to tell the Bayan Moderators. And what set up are you using (like direct PC to modem set up or if you are using a router). Sorry if I am asking. I do not have access to your account since I am just a moderator in the Forum. However, we, moderators are able to follow up cases on behalf of our Forum members thru our Bayan Moderators.
I will make a follow up on this thru our Bayan Moderators.

APCN2 cable repairs still has no ETR since there are more than 15 segments affected. Technically it is not only BayanDSL who is affected. As stated in my last update, BayanDSL implemented a 4 way re-routing of all our connections (re-routed to Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Australia).

Ok naman ang speed test and ping test ko. 500kbps average download sa speed test (quezon city server) pero kung magdownload ako ng mga movie or mp3 albums, ang 100mb umaabot ng 3 to 4 hours (10 KB/sec).

Direct PC to modem connection ang setup.


Dapat magsite visit ngayon pero walang pumunta. Tumawag lang ang technician then ang sabi ichechek na lang daw nila sa cabinet nila. Last month pa nila sinasabi ang cabinet na yan pero hanggang ngayon mabagal pa rin ang download speed ko! Nakakinis na..!

same tau problem..
kala ko aku lng ang nag sa suffer neto ..
5~10kbps lng talga max speed ko, plan 899 din ako.
pag lagpas na 12am, 1~3am 10~20kbps nmn ..

Is this only with a specific site or with all sites?

with all sites.. 1 year (january 2009 - january 2010) ako satisfied sa speed ko pero ngayong february and march hindi na. Mabagal ang download and upload speed ko ngayon.

Nakakapagod sige report pero wala naman nangyayari na improvement.

I was asking for the speed you are getting from www.speedtest.net with Quezon City as the test server. I was also asking for your set up. I know that you reported this already to the hotline.

I think our very problem is our connection going outside the Philippines, in which case almost all of our downloads are located. I'm also experiencing his problem, We still get the bandwidth that we paid for but only when we're downloading or connecting somewhere in the Philippines.

Here's the result of my test


I'm just hoping na maresolve na yung mga cases na ganito kasi we normally use our internet connection to connection internationally so kahit ok na ok pa yung connection locally its really quite useless to us.

ahahhah akala ako ako lang may problema nito.. wakoko uu nga bigla lang bumagal ung download speed..noon sa mediafire download speed ko is 200kbs pero ngayon nasa 20 - 40kbs nalang... huhuhu... 2mb pala connection namin...sa rapidshare nga 4kbs-10kbs lang hahayzzz ano ba yan...7mb files ang tagal matapos...napansin kong pagbagal nito mula nung ni launch nila ung iwantv....hmmmm....ang hirap talaga

I will try to make another follow up on this. Unfortunately though, you may have to report this again since it has been awhile since we heard from you before I can do another follow up. Tumawag lang ang technician last wednesday (around 5pm) at tinanong kung ok na ang connection ko... sabi ko mabagal pa rin. Around 8pm tumawag ako ulit sa hotline para magupdate sa mga reports ko at ang sabi sa akin close na daw ang latest report ko dahil ang note daw ng technician ay no problem found and ok na daw sabi ko... Sinungaling ang technician! Wala ako sinabing ok na ang connection ko. Right now hinihintay ko ang email ng customer support ng bayan.
