That is just the EAC cable. We still have the APCN 2 cable to be fixed. Although it should improve by then since the EAC cable will be fully operational.

-So khit anung gwin nila wala cla talagang magagawa, kc binigyan p ko ng report no. which means possible na may pumunta pang technician d2 para ayusin ang net ko, pero sa totoo lng wala nmn clang magagawa? gnun po ba? ill just have to wait??, question since dun sa post mu may binanggit ka na dalawang bagay na na bumubuo sa net natin, so if latency ay ndi properly serve, dapat mag bigay cla ng compensation about sa mga problema, kc as a subscriber, mukang matagalan ata ang repair na un, ou nga walang gustong mangyari pero company nmn cla dpt handa sila sa mga ganun at ang concern parin nila ay ang mga clients nila.

So in other words is there any compensation that will happen?

They gave you a report number as a reference for your informing them that you are experiencing a problem. That is a way for them also to track the complains of their customers. It doesn't mean that if they provided you a reference or ticket number a technician will automatically visit you. It really depends on the nature of the problem that you are reporting.

The most that Bayan can do is to re-route our connections to the different networks or available international partners they have to bypass the area being repaired. So still they can do something. But that is just about it. The stuff outside the country like the subterranean cables, are beyond them. Theoretically, the latencies should improve. Technically though, this is just a fix while a solution is implemented.

A company can only anticipate so much and cover only much. Acts of God (like storms, earthquakes, etc) are beyond their control. Thus, if you are referring to compensation in terms of rebate, this is not one of them. There is no interruption of service in general. It just so happens that the latency go up on occasions.

-Sobbing actually i cant feel the net side, maybe they can add some promo(like after the repair the @SOD will be for a whole month) something like that, in order for their clients to stay, or hahayaan n lng nilang lumipat sa ibang company ung iba, sob tlga sayang ung isang buwan na ibabayad ko, thanks n rin na ndi mangyari ung lindol sa pilipinas and hope it will not happen, pero sana may promo na ibibigay tagal kc ng repair eh.

I hope the fix would make the latencies playable especially on FPS games, and I don't really mind high latencies concerning US based games because of the distance, but I do hope that they fix the server connections within ASIA, which is nearer to us. I am steam player, and I have been hoping to open my steam games again. :) Sayang mga binili kong games if hindi ko din xa magagamit.. hehe

I am hoping for that also. I belong to an organization also that uses steam (search mo One World Syndicate) and eventually pag nagsawa ako dun sa browser game (where I met them and got to join the organization) that I play (they don't support my other two games na OLs), I might branch into one of the games where we maintain an alliance, a clan or group like Call of Duty, AION, Left for Dead etc.

Although I don't play it yet (waiting for the PC that I can load the games into) but my buddies in that organization are cajoling me already to join them. Tactician or strategists kasi ako in terms of playing and they like it. I do pray that it all ends well. I will be able to see from you guys how things will go. Although nakapaglaro pa din kami ng nephew ko sa online games niya... Hehehehe... Thank God.

Never heard of the one world syndicate, although I heard of a One world government.. hehe.. Anyways, still no improvements on my steam latencies. Not I'm stuck playing crossfire philippines, instead of CS source, and TF2. Dang. Even on Heroes of Newerth, my lowest ping would be, 250ms, but normally it is around 300ms on JPN server, and SEA servers. One thing that suprises me though, is that I get better ping on USW servers, i get around 180ms during the night, and at least 250ms at day. I hope we see some improvements soon. I miss using my steam account.

Update as of March 18:

There are currently 3 subterranean cables that carry traffic for internet users in the Philippines going out of Asia, the EAC, APCN2 and the Intra-Asia network of cables. As of March 17, only the EAC cable and Intra-Asia cables are operational, with the EAC being restored under normal operations by March 31 2010. The APCN2 cable as of 1AM March 17 suffered additional major cable breaks that rendered the Philippine Islands temporarily isolated via the APCN2 cables. To augment this, a 4 way re-routing was done as indicated in our previous updates, with our connections being re-routed to Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Australia to bypass the APCN2 cables. The repair vessels slated to fix the damages of the APCN2 cable is due to arrive at the affected areas by March 19 2010. There are no ETRs established as to when the APCN2 affected segments will be fully operational. Internet services in the region will remain operational due to the re-routing of internet traffic done to bypass the affected areas.

Further updates will be provided as necessary. Please note that this update is only for registered Bayan Forum Members.

This is an off topic post. Be congenial I am still giving you updates. By the way, your post is considered bootless.
Hindi naman po nagkukunyari si Bayan eh. This is not something within Bayan's control. Natural na lahat tayo affected. Yung main cable bringing our traffic to the US is the one affecting us. Brad, pasalamat ka me internet ka pa. Kung walang ginawa yung mga telecomms firm involved diyan, e baka wala tayong net ngayon. If you do not understand the situation, I suggest you update your cognitive faculties as it is clearly showing you lack so much of it. Get the drift?

The post was not meant for you ctopher. It was meant for ian_ph00 since this is your thread and his remark is not helping any of us.

-Im sorry to get rude, but para san p kung nag pa kabit ako ng DSL kung ang pde ko lng laruin na matino ay mga Games na ang server ay nandito sa pinas, excuse po kc kahit dial up mabilis, basta malapit sa server, etong topic na to ay tungkol sa mga di makatwirang latency (maxadong mataas).

-"alam mo international yan so expect it to be lag" , huh i dont get your point here, lagg?? paki elaborate ng maayos, kc ang pinakabit ko INTERNET!!! meaning ndi LOCAL connection ang aking pinakabit INTERNET, at nung dati nmn ndi ganito ka lagg tpos bigalang nag lagg nang ganito wow.

-Dapat di ko na saiyo ipinapaliwanag to kc alam ko may mata k nmn at pde mung basahin ung BUONG THREAD para malaman mu kung ano problema, please just dont post if your not helping, your just bringin back all the issues, na sinosolusyunan na ng bayantel.

-AT PWEDE READ MUNA BAGO MAG POST, kc na trace na ang problema ikaw n lng ata ang ndi nakakaalam, sos magbasa k kc.

EDIT:
Im the thread starter, i just dont feel a post to be this rude, yes i know that the message is not from me, but its still on the thread that i started, so if you will just post another problem just dont post it here make your own thread or just pm the person whom you want to ask not post here.

so sorry im very upset, its already march 23 yet nothing happens, nothing improves Brick wall

There's a difference between playable (expected) lag and unplayable lag. Right now we're getting the latter, hence all the QQ.
