Just my comment:

Accessing the modem's interface is not necessary just to check on the status of the line. Sometimes, accessing the modem's interface can be considered as tampering it. We are not allowed to do this. If proven that tampering has been done, the subscriber can be charged in the future the full amount of the modem in case it needs to be replaced.

I am issuing this note because other subscribers might misconstrue this image as a valid reason or precedence to start accessing the modems issued by BayanDSL without knowing the consequences.

We can always check the status of the line thru: lights of the modem (in case of sync failure), through speedtests sites in case of slow speeds. There is not much information to the subscriber available in the modem's GUI unless the subscrier is well informed enough to know the gamut of information available in the modem. Still that does not give the subscriber any inherent right to access the modem's GUI, unless it is a 3rd party issued modem.

Accessing the modem interface just to show how low these values can get is NOT necessary. The post is dated May 2009, and clearly during that time, the moderators over looked the topic. I have since made the necessary changes there, as well as in the Forum. Accessing the main GUI of BayanDSL provided modems is considered as modem tampering. There are other threads where the access of the BayanDSL provided modems have been clearly indicated as modem tampering even after the thread that you are citing. The thread you are citing is clearly out of date and is not the latest.

Thus, the topic/thread you are citing is clearly out of date, and is not congruent with the existing rules. Thus, your reasoning here about it to be considered as NOT a form of tampering is null and void. In citing references, it is the duty of the one citing such references that it should be the latest. The thread you cited is clearly out of date and is a topic overlooked before (which cannot be helped as the Forum is not the only place the moderators stay in). At any rate, any directives issued by the moderators at the posting of the topic is to be followed as the moderators do issue the latest guidelines coming either from the BayanDSL or from the Bayan Moderators. Please note also that as per the rules, any directives issued by any moderator regarding certain issues in the forum is deemed final.

Technically speaking, there is no need for you to access the modem's interface (unless you are using a modem not provided by BayanDSL) just to show how low the speeds can get as this can be achieved via different websites performing such tests, like www.speedtest.net using Quezon City as the test server.

Please note that I am clearing this us as I do not want this thread to be used a precedence for accessing the interface of BayanDSL provided modems. While it is the discretion of the subscriber to do so, it is the sole responsibility of the subscriber that should it be proven that tampering has been done, the subscriber can be charged the full amount of the modem in case the modem needs to be replaced.

At any rate, thank you for bringing the thread up. That was the thread I have been trying to search para mabago. I finally found it.

The topic as to accessing BayanDSL modem's interface ends here. Please focus on your concern and update us.

Thank you.
