In order to keep the forums running well and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules for the forums here. If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact us.

General Rules:

* While debating and discussion is fine, we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or purposeless inflammatory posts, whether this is done directly or indirectly in the post through some other means. Our decision is final in these matters.
* Sarcastic remarks, whether done directly or indirectly, are not allowed in the technical support related sections of the forum as they do not help at all with the discussions of the concerns of the thread starters, often times also leading to inflammatory development of the threads.
* Please refrain from posting meaningless threads, one word (or short) non-sense posts, or the such.
* When replying in other forumers threads, please refrain from making posts that merely contain our sentiments, and plain agreeing to the causes of the thread starter. We may agree or dissent but it must contribute to the cause of the thread starter.
* Replies made in threads should help contribute to the causes of the thread starter.
* Multiple or repeated posting not allowed.
* Advertising, spamming and trolling is not allowed. This includes using the forum email and Private message system to spam other members.
* Please wait a reasonable amount of time before bumping posts.
* We also do not allow posts that are sexual in nature or violate Bayan community standards.
* The moderators shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate community standards.
* Discussion of illegal activities such as software and music piracy and other intellectual property violations are not allowed. The immediate sanction of which is suspension of no less than 30 days.
* Posts that contain threats, whether this is done in a joking manner or not, to the lives of any Forumer or Bayan personnel, or the safety of people in general shall mean an automatic suspension of the responsible Forumer for no less than 30 days, or on the discretion of the responding moderator.
* Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.
* While we are quite happy to have constructive comparative conversations about competitor's products, we will not tolerate blatant adverts or the sort of any related threads.
* We reserve the right to remove offensive posts without notice.
* Also while these rules cover most common situations, they cannot anticipate everything. Consequently we reserve the right to take any actions we deem appropriate to ensure these forums are not disrupted or abused in any way.
* You cannot post any affiliate or referral links, or post anything asking for a referral. Such posts will be subject to removal.
* You cannot post advertisements or notices for contests.
* We also reserve the right to ban anyone who wilfully violates the forum rules, as access to our support forums are a privilege and not a right.
* Any images posted in this forum related with Bayan or Bayan services will be deleted without notice.
* Posting of names of Bayan Employees & Accountholders are not allowed in the Forum.
* Complains regarding private messages or emails within the Forum or that uses the facilities of the Forum should always be forwarded to a moderator. Posting of private messages, unless explicitly agreed upon by both parties concerned should not be posted in the message boards.
* Only active members are allowed to participate in any Forum activities.
* Active membership is defined as the Forumer has participated by posting in any thread in the Forum in the past 2-3 weeks prior to any event or activity of the Forum. Such posts however, must still conform with the rules of the Forum. A single post in any thread doesn't merit being active.
* Respect must be accorded all the Moderators.
* If any member wishes to clarify any of the decisions or behavior made by the moderators, he or she may send a private message (PM) to the concerned moderator. Clarificatory posts regarding the moderators posted in the message or forum boards shall automatically be deleted.
* The moderators also have the final say and their decisions deemed final in any case concerning posts in the Forum.
* Posting of phone numbers and personal email addresses, for security reasons, are not allowed due to the nature of the Forum being public.
* Only another moderator or a Forum Admin may check on the behavior of another moderator, may reverse another moderator's decision, or correct another moderator's posts or pronouncements.
* Threads started by Moderators, specially updates, network advisories, announcements or stickies, open for all are immediately on strict moderation. Posts in such threads are automatically deleted if they do not conform to any of the rules, and on the discretion of the moderators. Immediate sanctions may also be applied depending on the offense.
* This is a forum maintained by BayanDSL, it is only proper that discussions and comparisons of products from competitors be kept minimal.

Any threads/posts of these types will be deleted.


We also have some rules that apply for certain technical support:

* All problem with DSL/BWL or any Bayan Service should be posted under BayanTech Support category.
* Make sure to include your Account number for any DSL related problems. Account numbers can be obtained either through your DSL/Phone bill or thru the hot line.
* Always include your account number when participating in DSL connection related surveys or discussion threads relating to DSL connection problems that is indicated to be open to all Forumers, and not just limited to the thread starter.
* Start your own thread for DSL concerns or when complaining about your DSL connection, specially when requesting for assistance thru the Forum.
* Problem posted in other category will be deleted.
* If the forumer or thread starter has engaged himself/herself in an initial troubleshooting, this must also be included in the initial post. This way, Forumers responding are not left guessing. Should an information be left out, the TS cannot fault those responding for failing to address what s/he has done in terms of resolving the problem. Being detailed allows the Forum to be efficient and helps other people give a correct and sound advise.
* This is a technical forum to a certain degree, and people are encouraged and advised to be detailed in their post.
* The Forum is just a subscriber Forum, a feedback mechanism for BayanDS and its other services, thus, the hot lines (technical support and customer support) still remains to be the main support arm of the services offered by Bayan.
* The most that the Forum can do is to follow up the concern of the Forumers through its Bayan Moderators with the concerned hot line (technical support or customer support) PROVIDED it is first reported to the hot line.
* The Technical Support hotline (411 2000 from any landline or 181 from any Bayan Phone) is the primary technical support of BayanDSL. Make sure to call/contact the hotline for any DSL concerns first before reporting it to the Forum.
* The Customer Service hotline (412-12-12 from any landline or 171 from any Bayan Phone) is the primary hotline for concerns regarding Bayan Phone and Billing. Make sure to call/contact the hotline for any phone issues first before reporting it to the Forum.
* The technical support hot line can also be contacted via its email address: customersupport@bayan.com.ph. In emailing the hot line, please be sure to include your account number, name of the account holder, a detailed description of the problem being experienced, and pertinent screenshots as instructed by the hot line (if one is able to contact the hot line via the trunk lines).
* The hot line can also be contacted via text through: 0917-893-2189. In texting the hot line, please provide your account number, the name of the account holder, your contact numbers, and a description of the problem being experienced.
* Post concerning the DSL connection that do not comply with the rules will be automatically deleted (missing account numbers, not reported to the hotline, etc) or the thread automatically locked depending on the discretion of the responding moderator.
* Threads opened will be closed 7 days after the last update made by the thread starter, forumer, or moderator.
* Discussions that necessitates the access of the GUIs (graphical user interface) of Bayan issued modems, including the changing of its settings in any manner, is prohibited in the Forum, as this constitutes modem tampering.
* The length of time a thread can remain open, however, can be extended provided the thread starter requested it, or a moderator keeps it open.
* Threads closed due to the 7 day rule can still be re-opened provided a moderator is PM'd or addressed to have it opened. A valid reason must be provided, however, why the thread should be re opened.
* The moderators have a final say whether a thread is to be closed or to be re-opened and such decisions are un-appealable, unless it is with due cause or valid reason.
* Thread starters have the responsibility of keeping their threads active.
* Threads not conforming to the rules on the second posting of the thread starter will be subject to auto closure. The moderators must be notified by the thread starter for a re-opening of the thread in question, provided the info to be complied with be emailed or PM'd to the responding moderator.

**Badgering, disrespecting, dishonoring and directly attacking any Moderator, Forum Helper, and Admins, are immediately sanctioned by a 15 day suspension. For any questions regarding the decisions of the Moderators, Forum Helpers, and Admins, PM the concerned Moderator, Admin or Forum Helper. Our decisions on cases concerning the moderators, Admins and Forum Helpers are deemed final.

Advertising Services and Solicitation

We do not allow people to post threads or to send private messages or emails to users here that advertise or solicit any products, services, funds or donations. Explicit advertising and solicitating in signatures is also prohibited.


Links in Sigs

Links in signatures must follow these guidelines:

* Linking to a commercial product/service is fine, provided it is not a product or service that competes with a product or service offered by Bayan.
* Promotional text for a commercial product or service is ok, provided there are no price(s) of product(s) or service(s) listed.
* A link and promotional text for a site that is not commercial and does not contain product(s) and/or service(s) is allowed, provided the site is not sexual or does not violate Bayan community standards.
* Duplicate links to the same URL in a signature are not allowed.

Avatars

Animated avatars are not allowed. Sorry.

Avatars that may be confused with official staff avatars are not allowed.

Usernames belonging to, a duplicate of, exact spellings of the private names of moderators or directly relating to the moderators may not be used.


Signature Size Limits

All signatures should not exceed the following size limits, and you can't have both text and images

* For text signatures: 4 lines normal size, 8 lines small size and up to 90 chars per line. Font sizes above 2 are not allowed. (Blank lines count as lines.)
* Do not use images with large text to bypass the previous item
* For images in signatures: 1 image up to 300 pixels wide, 125 pixels tall and 20k in size
* Animated images in a signature are not allowed
