nahiya naman ako. chrome gamit ko ;p

to be fair, let's ask the mods here, is there a part of the internet that a certain browser excels at?

example, i can say that chrome can be very good in playing flash games ata un. yung tipong mga farmville sa facebook? games like that. i don't play, but as compared against IE, games load up much faster in chrome. i don't know if its just my pc.

kung tipong pirata ka lang (eherm Angel ) na nagbbrowse lang sa mga torrent sites (ehermAngel ), ano mas mabilis?

i used chrome from reading reviews from international it mags, saying it is the best.

for now, tatry ko gamitin ang opera and firefox.

this is a really informative thread.

Check your browsers....

Remember, an up to date browser means its vulnerabilities may have been patched or fixed. Having an up to date browser also means you surf the web securely (this does not replace safe and secure browsing habits, of which having an up to date browser is one of them).

As of this posting the following are the latest versions of the following browsers:

1) Firefox: 3.6.3
2) Chrome: 5.0.375.55
3) Safari: 5.0
4) Opera: 10.53

As for IE, I only use IE for active x related sites like an online scanner. Other than that, I do not use it for surfing. Just a matter of preference (in my opinion (not that of BayanDSL since they do not endorse any specific browser), it still is the least secure browser compared to the 4 I enumerated above).

@Nel

I will reply later with your question. Medyo busy ako ngayon eh. Hehehe.... Just finalizing a PC upgrade for one of my friends (Windows 7, at gusto all 64 bit apps [good luck naman!!!!])

For Safari 5.0 users in Windows (all versions):

Safari 5.0 has sometimes been known to crash on occasions. If you are experiencing this bug (like I do) here is one tip I got from the Apple Safari Forums. If you are using Windows Vista or 7 (where it is likely to occur more often than in Windows XP), go to AppData, Roaming and look for the folder Apple Computer. By the way, you will only see the folder AppData if you set your folder options to view hidden files. Delete the two folders for Safari on the Apple Computer folder. Export your bookmarks in IE (in case you are transitioning to Safari) to Firefox (use the latest build, which means you will have to import the bookmarks into Firefox). You then export the bookmarks of Firefox and then import the bookmarks file of Firefox into Safari. Safari is known to automatically import IE bookmarks. After importing the Firefox bookmarks, delete the other bookmarks found in Safari. Hopefully this works. I have tried it since yesterday and it seems to be humming just fine.

Check your browsers:

1) Firefox is now 3.6.6
2) Chrome: 5.0.375.86
3) Opera: 10.54 (supposedly less of a software bloat. I still see it roar to at least 200 mb depending on how many tabs are open)

I stopped using Safari. I guess I am not about to wait for a fix on its frequent crashes with Windows 7 x64. Besides, I will go with the maxim, it is good for Mac.

Update your browsers:

Current STABLE versions of the following popular browsers:

1) Firefox - 3.6.6
2) Chrome - 5.0.375.99
3) Opera - 10.6

Browsers are now being updated almost on a bi-weekly basis. Be sure to be secure by updating your browsers regularly.

Fast browsing I'll go for chrome pero hindi compatible ang ibang page. Firefox advantage is you can add add-ons para sa games but syempre running on scripts so medyo bumabagal. I suggest use two browsers according to your needs.

Indeed.

I use the two browsers, but I use chrome more than FF.

Update your browsers:

Internet Explorer 9 has been released. However, it will only work with Vista and Windows 7. Windows XP is not supported.

Firefox 4.0 has been released also. Better download it and install it. The update feature in 3.6 still is in development to update the browser to 4.0.

Chrome is already at version 10.0.648.204.

Whereas Opera is now at 11.01.

Having an up to date and latest browser is a part of safe computing habits, however, by itself alone it will not replace other tools like a good antivirus, an updated OS, etc.

The above mentioned browsers are trademarks of their own respective companies.

BayanDSL Forum does not endorse any specific browser. The update is just to make our forumers aware of the latest versions in terms of browsers. The info is provided on an as is where is basis.

Internet Explorer users have lower IQs: study

Using Microsoft's Internet Explorer (IE) to browse the web? Your IQ score is likely to be lower than someone using Firefox, Chrome, Safari or Opera.

A new study published by online psychometric testing company AptiQuant Psychometric Consulting Co. has found that a user's choice of web browser is related to their cognitive ability.

"There was a clear indication...that the subjects using any version of Internet Explorer ranked significantly lower on an average than others," said Aptiquant. Out of all the IE versions, "subjects using IE 8 [fared] a little better."

People using Opera, Camino and IE with Chrome Frame scored slightly higher than their not-so-bright Internet Explorer-using friends, suggesting that people with a lower IQ "tend to resist a change/upgrade of their browsers."

"There was no significant difference in the IQ scores between individuals using Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox and Apple's Safari; however, it was on an average higher than IE users," said Apitiquant.

More than 100,000 people in USA, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand took the online Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (IV) test in the space of four weeks and their IQ scores were correlated with their browser choice for the study.

Hello mga bossing, as much as I hate IE, I am left with no choice but to use it in our field lab. And to my surprise, the latest version of IE is not that bad. I still do consider FireFox when using my own machine but IE9 does not give me any problem, even with speed, so far.

Ciao!

I used to only be aware of IE as a web browser.
I thought it was THE web browser for any computer. Turns out I was wrong.
The one I'm currently using is Mozilla Firefox although there are times it's pretty slow.
I use Google as well.
There are features of both browsers that I like and I hate.

These are my favorite browsers which I prefer to run my FB games applications:

1) Chrome V 16.0.912.63 m
2) Firefox V 8.01
3) Rockmelt V 0.9.71.128 (Official Build 9db851e)
4) Maxthon V 3.2.0.1000
5) Safari 5.11 (7534.51.22)

Maxthon is highly recommended to those who have more than two FB accounts. You can split browser and view two games in one window and/or run your second FB account by opening a new session (new window) without logging out your first FB account. You can even login to 4-5 accounts running the same game with no browser crash.

IE is a big NO. It has 94 security vulnerabilities while Opera is not user-friendly. If Chrome, Rockmelt and Maxthon will ask you to register, just click X and browse like you do in FF.

Off-topic: Am annoyed that international gateway in Singapore is down and I couldn't play my FB games :(
