Perhaps this can help: Torrent Download Optimation. dnniwa, another Forumer is not experiencing your problems. He did this and I think it is working since he is having fun downloading stuff.

Papayagan naman eh. Basta within the rules, not flaming, not off topic, and done in a manner befitting a public forum. Remember, there are better ways to express one's self, better ways to put a complain across, better ways of saying things. Now it is just up to us if we will do it the BETTER WAY or BE BITTER about it. And trust me, people/readers can tell the difference.

Wow im surprised. ah whole poll was created based on this matter.. haha, maybe this could be a case of (operator error). 10 to 1, this is probably user side problems yet bayandsl still takes the wrap. A lot of these these problems may be helped just by taking a look at wiki and learning first of all, what a torrent actually is.. Because it is not a magic link in cyberspace that makes all those good pirated things jump onto your hard-drive, and bayandsl is not a magic server that makes your computer go ZoomZoom to google. Self study is a great way to work out problems, which is probably the furthest thing you people (disappointed torrenters) want to hear, yet i speak the truth.

CHeers guys. happy torrenting.

That's a good sign.

This thread is simply a fact finding or information gathering or data mining or whatever you want to call this. I won't give any conclusions kung ano man ang maging result dito dahil bahala na kayo doon.

So ayun, nang bumalik na yun net access everything was back to normal(pati torrent dl). yosa

Are you using a PPPoE dialer to connect to the internet? Or automatic ng connected yung PC sa internet pag bukas mo?

Kung naka dialer ka, you don't need to do port forwarding sa modem since open na lahat ang ports nun. Kung naka router mode yun, dito tayo magkakaproblema.
Also if you are using a personal firewall like Comodo, Online Armor, Zone Alarm, etc, you need to enter the ports used by your torrent in their exceptions or allow lists para di nila ito i-filter. Incidentally, if you also use Avast, it has a network shield which is a light firewall, you need to turn that off if you use torrents. It will filter everything that the torrent application gets from the connection since it detects it as some sort of network intrusion... Weird but I have read this in their forum which I also happen to be a member. Same with other AVs that has a network intrusion system, or with Firewalls na NIPS at HIPS, you need to configure these para di bumagal ang pag torrent mo.

A few clarification...

Being a moderator, I NEVER SAID that only a minority is experiencing it or that it is just a small group is experiencing it. I simply said, IT IS NOT HAPPENING TO EVERYONE. There is a big difference between the two, and anyone can see the difference. Check the posts again.. NOBODY said that it is just a minority experiencing it nor a small group is just experiencing it. It is clear in the posts of other Forumers that it is not happening to everyone. Please read them carefully. Thank you.

Dnniwa has pointed a very good reason why some torrents slow down... If a tracker persistently checks your seeding ratio to your download ratio, and notices you are not doing your own share of uploading, chances are, he/she will throttle your download to a point that you will even get pissed. That makes sense. Because I know all my friends do their part. This can be tracked. Using a different ISP like what you did, can appear to the tracker as a new person downloading for the first time. This is just a theory though. After all, I only have friends who do torrents on my connection (which can be very irritating as torrenting eats so much bandwidth, and my friends know that), and they don't experience that either. So how do you explain that also?

I have spoken to my friends who work for BayanDSL. They already confirmed to me that there is no throttling done on the torrent application. Perhaps the point of other Forumers about the application has basis that this is not with the ISP, specially if surfing and other internet functions are doing fine. Just my thoughts on this....

Same here bro.

but then again, possible rin naman na i-cap ang download speeds within that time frame. Maybe it starts kapag tapos na ang SOD time period.

Around 2nd-3rd week of October ko lang naexperience to. Before naman panalong panalo ung speeds.

A classic case of operator error... Comon people don't blame the isp because you dont know how to torrent, Don't blame the cops when they arrest you for burning down your own house. I guess its human nature to point the finger at others before yourself. Take a look at the optimization tips on the thread Sir.Mikos is endorsing, i actually believe a lot of these issues are caused by improper port forwarding, and or other torrent application settings.

^Sir I am not blaming the ISP. I'm just telling the problem to them. Naka port forward ako sir and everything's working fine nitong October lang talaga naging ganito. Healthy torrent with a lot of seeders since I am on a superb private torrent sites. Check niyo to sir: Pinoydsl

First question: I will disagree with the given proof of athenaxds. Sa sinabi pa lang niya na Bayan is throttling the bandwidth not within their network but outside the network mali na. How can you throttle something NOT WITHIN YOUR CONTROL? How can you throttle something outside your network? If he meant, throttling the incoming connections for torrent to the network, that will still be within the network of Bayan. You can control what goes in and out of the network but such controls will still be within the network. Hindi mo kasi pwedeng i-control yung nasa labas ng network mo since that will be left to the operators of that network.

Interpreting it again, he possibly meant that BayanDSL is limiting the connections from other networks. But then again, if that is the case, then how come I don't have problems exchanging files among friends who are users of PLDT and SmartBro? Take note, filesharing over the web is also a peer to peer connection. Throttle that of torrent, and you will also experience problems with other applications that uses the port that torrent applications use. And unless he is fully aware of the location of torrent seeders or servers, then I don't think his claim will stand. A single screenshot of a GUI will not prove anything, other than the speed of your torrent. There are still a lot of things to be considered.
