hi. i'm having a problem in connecting my router to our bayan dsl's modem (zte). i read in you DIY section that all i need to do is connect my modem to my router then go to the ip address for pppoe configuration. thats what i did but i cant get pass the dial up connection. prompting a message that there is an error or something. called up bayan's customer service and all that she can tell me is that bayan doesnt support any technical difficulties in installing a router and that i have to consult my own technician for this problem. i hope anyone here can help me. coming from pldt dsl where everything is just plug and play, i'm having a hard time with bayan dsl. btw, my router is ZIO.
thanks in advance!

thanks in advance! A few things to do:
1) Connect your PC directly to the BayanDSL modem. 2) Try surfing with a PPPoE dialer in your PC.
If you are able to connect to the internet using a PPPoE dialer in your PC, it means your modem is in its default mode and therefore you can connect the router to the modem.
Follow the next steps:
1) Connect the router to the modem and to the PC. 2) Delete the PPPoE dialer in your PC. You won't need this anymore since it will be your router who will do the dialing for you. 3) Set up the router for PPPoE. In setting up the PPPoE in your router, make sure you DO NOT place anything in the "Service Name" field if your router has that option. 4) Once you have set up the router for PPPoE and saved the settings, restart all the devices. 5) Attempt to surf. This time, DO NOT use the PPPoE dialer (in case you have not deleted it yet).
It would help if you can tell us what error you are getting when you try to connect to the internet.
Bayan's technical support do not support issues with routers. However, in the Forum, we do have Forumers who do help out with such things based on their experiences.

That is probably the PPPoE dialer. You do not need that if you will use a router since you will set your router to PPPoE. Follow the instructions on your router's manual on how to set the router for PPPoE.

Yes. It should be the router that should "auto connect". And the only way to do that is to set the router to PPPoE. You will have to access its GUI (graphical user interface) and set the settings there. That is the only way you can connect to the internet with a router. Using the dialer in your PC is not advisable with a router since that will be blocked by the router itself in most cases, unless it is in bridged. Follow the instructions on your router's manual how to set it up for PPPoE.
Wish I could come up with a tutorial for your router but I am currently pressed for time.
