Update:

Additional networking infrastructures in the Southeast Pacific region were discovered to have problems this morning. The cause of the problem were traced to the earthquake that hit Chile. TelCos maintaining the said affected facilities are already in the process of getting the repair work done. The first set of repairs is estimated to be completed, as of now, on March 15 2010. The repair work on other facilities affected still has no ETR (estimated time of repair) as of the moment. Affected ISPs are already coordinating the re-routing of their connections to the different networks in the region. There will be no interruptions in the internet service in the region. However, latencies to some sites or internet applications are to be expected due to the rerouting being done. There is no public advisory on this as it is not generally impacting and there are no interruptions in the internet service in the region.

For BayanDSL subscribers our internet services will continue to remain operational, however some of our connections will be re-routed to Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia and Australia to bypass the affected facilities in the region.

Please note that this advisory is being issued exclusively only for Registered Forum Members only.

If you are having problems (like slow browsing, intermittent connection) other than the expected latencies , please coordinate with the technical support hotline.

Informative. Thanks for the update. At least its most probable this is the cause of our problems. And it looks like something has already been done, and continuing to be done. This leaves me hopeful. Konting tiis na lang :D

it says first set of repairs lang..

baka ang tatamaan nyan yung mga business line EVDOs NETBASIC NETPRO etc.

just hope na kasama ang residential lines sa pagnonormalize ng latencies

This is just the first set of repairs. I already created a sticky on this since the info has already been announced via those emailing technical support. There is another one, currently with no etr as of yet, which is the main one connecting our country to the rest of world. Re-routing however, has been done.

Ang alam ko, business line or leased line customers have a different route. They do not use the subterranean cables between Taiwan and the Philippines. Dito kasi dumadaan halos lahat ng residential lines ng Pinas. High end business clients (yung pang corporation) passes thru the undersea cables that cross the Pacific and is connected directly to mainland US. Mas mahal nga lang ang bayad sa pag gamit dun kaya purely business customers lang ang naka route dun. This is the cable maintained by the biggest telecomm network in the US. I can't mention the name here. Confi eh. But when the earthquake in Taiwan hit the cables last August 2009, our company (referring to my previous employer) actually used the said direct trans Pacific cable kaya normal operations pa din kami. I learned this from our IT who explained to us the situation.

What type of connection ang gamit mo? Wired? Wireless?

I know me glitch sa Wireless Zero Config ng Windows XP at WLAN Service ng Vista at 7. Hence they have the tendency to have spikes in the latency on the average of every 2 minutes. The spikes can go as high as 2K to as high as 5K depending on the activity being done with the PC or the laptop.

Eto lang yung alam ko na pwedeng magkarun ng sudden spikes. Kung wired, I still have to study that issue. What were you doing nung time na nakita mo yung spikes?

same. noticed that as well. since yesterday evening the latency seems higher than usual (around 700~1k) and even during off peak hour hindi bumababa.

hopefully next week ok na yung connection.

I hope I'm not speaking ahead of time here, but my connection is all better now. Just like before. Time to return to raids. :D 200-300 ms at 7:00 PM? Win!

EDIT: Problem resurfaced 9PM onwards :/ Lol too good to be true I guess.

Let's hope mag improve na tomorrow yung connection, I haven't posted here for sometime now pero ayun same problem ninyo guys and the only problem that I encounter dito sa Bayandsl namin.

Right now hindi kami makalaro ng mga private/international servers and even hindi kami makagamit ng magicjack ng maayos.

Siryoso? I was able to play early morning (around 8:00~9:00am) before leaving for work and finished at least the heroic daily. Latency back then was around 350~450ms. Kala ko pa naman ayus na tong issue na to.
