new personal record for latency: spiked at 21+k ms latency in sunreaver's tent at argent tourney grounds. hinintay ko bumaba pero after 5mins or so it stabilized at around 10k ms.

pati sa rnadom heroic eh masisipa ako dahil sa latency na yan, pati pag-lvl nang alt ko hindi pwede. sigh, sayang lang panahon.

I didn't expect it to reach to extremes. It's sad it had to come to that. What's really going down Bayan? Do you know? If so at least please shed some light on these events to customers. Or if you don't know, then maybe at least point us in the right direction who could most probably explain this worst case scenario?

It's sad enough that you can't even level alts at low level, uncongested areas in the game. It's like a subliminal message to get you to quit WoW due to lackluster network performance.

sigh, so disappointing. was supposed to join a voa25 pug this evening, but declined bec of my 4+k latency. guess what dropped? lvl264 gloves and pants for hunters, all in 1 voa25! but then again, with that kind of latency, might as well forget trying to raid even 10-man ones. so hello internet shops for the weekend, will hope no one will be able to hack my account then and that the pcs have no keyloggers.

For your protection:

1. Change your user name and password through battle net. Test new account details at home.
2. Get a buddy/relative you trust to CHANGE the user and password of your account to the old one when you're done in the cafe.
3. Don't leave the cafe until you see that your cafe username and password no longer works. Don't try to log in with the correct username and password.
4. When reaching home, log in your account.

It then shouldn't matter if there's a keylogger or not. Di naman makukuha orignal username and password mo. You might want to take a step further and go into the WTF folder of the WoW directory and DELETE the folder with your account name on it.

The key thing here is you have to have someone you can trust and rely on to reset your account details. But before doing this, try it muna at home para mas familiar yung contact mo sa bahay on how to go about it. then do a trial at home before actually going to a cafe. This is how I do it and I do not fear being hacked or keylogged. But I will put a DISCLAIMER nevertheless >.> Try it at your own risk. It works for me, but it may or may not work for you. BUT the logic is sound right?

try the old disconnect reconnect routine until u get a good tracert during peak hours. it works, most of the time, at least.

p.s.
if i upgrade my acct to 1mbps, bababa pa kaya ping ko?

Similar to mine. 300 values anywhere from 6th hop onwards are bad enough. 400 is ridiculous. We should have half those values. We did anyway during peak hours prior to the problem that started in February.

I believe this is the most viewed topic in this forum.. =) A lot are waiting for a mature update and fix on this issue. Like me, I do not post a lot but i do visit this thread everyday.

By the way, i still have the same tracert like you. =) I tracert first before i log on, i would know if i could play or not. =) i wouldn't bother to logon if i see around 500ms and * on them hops..

No reply from moderator. Must mean he's got nothing more to say at the moment. Or he may have given up on us. In either case, I'm starting to lose hope. It's been 2 months now. Knowing Bayan's track record, this could drag on to as much as 6 months. :/ I can't find anything on the news about the status of the APCN2 cable too. So I'm left to speculate...

same here. latency was good from last night to this morning, average 400-550ms. but this afternoon's real bad, dc in dalaran and around 4k ms latency elsewhere.

wala naman tayong magagawa kung hindi umasa sa kanila di ba? so calling bayandsl to fix this problem and address the issue, else everyone just go to other companies and try their connections.

I am still waiting for an update on this. If I have an update on it already, I would have posted it. But it seems people are on summer vacation. I will post an update as soon as I get them. For now, it seems I am the lone Mod on board. Understandable... It is after all summer. Angel

It's more than a month now since my latency for this game has changed by as much as 100-200ms. 2 weeks ago I complained to Bayan, YET AGAIN, through email and they quickly had someone call me the following day. I think it has been mentioned here before, but the guy from Bayan who called me up said the cables used for our routes are being repaired and he can't say when this will get fixed. Apparently the recent earthquakes affected the cables.

Lately I've been having better latency. It's still bad at night. In the mornings and early afternoons it is better but really not like before anymore. Then I just read another thread here in this forums about that EAC cable being fully restored, but the other one is still undergoing repairs? I hope it gets repaired really quick. I'm getting sick and tired of customer support not really knowing what to tell their customers. My first complaint was met with a standard and scripted line from the agent like this (this was like a month or more ago today):

ME: Are you aware of any cable breaks, routing issues and the likes that could probably be the cause of this weird latency I've been getting lately? (I was on a fishing expedition here)
Agent: No Sir, everything is fine... there have been no such reports. In fact I am checking your line right now and everything is all OK.

Yeah right. That's really bad customer support. I can't blame the agent, perhaps they really didn't know because they weren't updated. So who is to blame? Now that guy who called me up, on the other hand, I appreciate his honesty. Whether he was authorized by his Bayan superiors to really tell me the "real" reason (or it was already time to let the Bayan residential plan customers know the truth) his being frank about the whole situation deserves commendation. Customers appreciate that. Don't lead us around the bush. Tell us frankly what is happening. We'll understand. I am sure most will feel the same as I do. I don't believe it took you more than a month to finally realize that cables were being "repaired" and all that, then another week or so to finally decide to let the people know.

This is a subscriber Forum. 98% of the people you will meet here are basically your fellow subscriber, coming from different backgrounds, many of whom are professionals in the technical field. Only 2% are from BayanDSL.

Just setting your expectations correctly.

People may get differing information from here as we are a separate entity from the technical support hot line. It would be very unfair if you fault the technical support hot line just because there is an information posted here and they do not know it. We have, after all, advised everyone here that the info posted here is just for Forum Members. The Moderators after all do have other sources of information. We post what we know in the Forum. But that doesn't mean the technical support hot line will know of it also. The Forum, while sponsored by BayanDSL and is serving as their feedback mechanism, is managed by the Moderators, not the technical support hot line.
Notice that if we do not have any updates, we are merely quiet about it. We do, after all, do still many follow ups with the technical support hot line on many issues posted here. Many updates that we post here do come from the people from BayanDSL but not necessarily cascaded to their technical support agents as we do have moderators working for BayanDSL coming from different departments. Although before we post anything in the Forum, we still deliberate what will be posted. You have to remember also that if you are a rank-and-file employee as the case of the agent, not all the information would be available to you.

The cable break repairs is beyond the control of the ISPs in the Philippines. If it is fast, or slow, that will depend on the international team working on it. Right now, I do not have any updates on it coming from the other moderators.

Time and again, I have already stated: The Forum is a separate entity from the technical support hot line. Forumers also have different privileges as we are advised of many things that ordinary subscribers may not have access to. The info provided here on the other hand, should not be expected to be known also by the hot line as we are a totally separate entity from them. The agents of the technical support hot line are not expected to know all the information posted here as this is just a FORUM and its contents are basically for just the members of the Forum. Furthermore, the Forum is also not an online technical support. It is basically just a Forum and the technical support hot line still remains to be the main support arm of the subscribers when it comes to connection related issues.

I hope this is clear for everyone.

Yeah. Thought as much. Nothing to do now but wait. And hope.

In any case, hearing an official voice on the matter is reassuring, even if only a little bit. Much appreciated.
