Comparing service of other ISP is a moot point because they use DIFFERENT network infrastructures than Bayan. There are many differing variables involved that while one may produce better results than the other, it does not mean that the underperforming one has the same resource, variables, or whatnot as the performing one. Really irrelevant.

Simple analogy. Same spec cars. One travels a highway, newly paved, high capacity, smooth ride. = Pleasurable, fast, enjoyable ride. The other travels another highway, maybe less capacity, maybe there are some potholes and detours. Most probably detours (we have been rerouted right?) = Not as pleasurable, not as fast, not as enjoyable ride.

What Bayan needs to do (and has been doing as far I know) is examining their own route, and talking with their own partners to come up with a solution.

ang daling tumawag sa ibang ISPs, magtanong tanong, meron mga ISPs na may free trial period para matest nyo kung mas okay talaga sa kanila. maraming paraan dyan. wag nating hayaan yung ganitong style ng pinoy businesses. they know filipinos have that tendency na hayaan na lang kaya nawiwili ang mga ganyang companies.

1. Lumipat or get another subscription sa ibang ISP
2. Lumipat sa ibang bansa na kung saan meron ISP na maayos ang connection lalo na sa WoW
3. Try a different game/s na maayos ang speed using BayanDsl

Ipacheck ang PC. Minsan andun din yung problem.

Other possible fixes, use tools like leatrix latency fix, wow tunnels, vpn tunnels, etc.

and kung titignan mo tong thread na to nag start to since feb 19, 2010
anong petsa na at wala padin kame napapala sa kakaantay ... so para sakin natural lang naman na mag isip ng ibang solusyon bukod sa mag antay sa announcement ng bayanDSL (higher-ups or kung sino man ang may power na magsabi ng status).

kase aun nga sa nahanap ko sa ibang forums sinabi dun na sabi daw ng bayanDSL na wala na daw sila magagawa regarding sa WoW connection from PH since hindi daw sakanila ung problema. ^_^

It seems that at the moment merong 2 route/servers ang bayantel. I kahapon naka-connect ako at maganda latecy. Hindi ko na pinatay yung modem+router hoping na hindi ako i-disconnect sa connection na yun pero unfortunately dinisconnect ako kanikanina lang at nung nung naka-connect na ko dun sa balik na sa crappy tracert route.

Connect-Disconnect lang, konting tiyaga and pray na maka-connect kayo dun sa isang server.

BTW it seems that bayantel automatically disconnects/resets your connection after being conneed for 24 hours (napansin ko kasi yung connected sa router log 23:58)

automatic ka talagang madidisconnect pagka tapos na un sod hours (happens only after 10AM). natry ko na kasi one time na naka online for 24 hours straight, un lang na na DC ako ay nung after mag 10AM tpos automatic na nagreconnect nlng un dialer k.

Tina-try ko na mag connect-disconnect pero wala di ako makabalik dun sa isa.

Mods any comments? meron bang way para ma-sigurado na dun sa unang route yung connection lagi (or atleast when playing)?


maybe you could check your IP address.. kasi i think different IPs connect you to different servers

Latency has improved slightly on my part. hitting high 500ms but still averaging 550-800ms. At times there are spikes where it reaches 1k+ms. But for the most part 550-800ms. Can do weekly raids. Cannot do other raids. But its a bit better.

I do know that there are improvements being done on the data networks of BayanDSL. I too have been observing my connection for the past few months. There are times when my latency would spike up to 450+ ms. Then the week after it would subside to below 200 ms. The last feedback I had from the Bayan Moderators is that the focus of Bayan right now is in improving their Data Networks. For a long time already, I did notice that there are times when the connection would slow down but not to the point that the connection is already problematic. Then it would speed up. Downloads also improved. It is just but moot and academic that sometimes, we do experience some difficulties especially if there are improvements being done on the line. I was quite mum about this for the past months since I was still observing things. As for the latencies that many experience, at this point in time, I can only say that while there is a problem with it, I can only attribute that to the upgrades done recently as well as the disasters that hit the region. It just so happened that they occurred one right after the other. I am not setting false expectations here. I, too, am a subscriber. And based on my observations, I did see the latencies fluctuate, the routing change, the connection quality dropped then improve, then get better. Take note, I did not experience any major problems (heaven forbid). All I know right now is that based on my observations, this is simply due to what one of the Moderators advised me, they are doing a lot of upgrades or improvements in their data networks as that is their focus for the year.

I try my best to provide our Forumers the best updates I can get. I know the rest of the other moderators who in their own capacity, have replied to the best of their knowledge regarding the problems that many face here. In the end, it will still be our own choice if we stay, we go, or we be patient. For many, they cannot wait. It is understandable. This is after all a business and we all pay for our connections. It is an investment that everyone makes. The bottom line though, some of us perhaps are more learned and do understand what is going on. Technology does take time to develop, implement, and improve. I can only hope in the end, that all turns out well for everyone.
