Let us all hope for that. I am one with you guys in trying to look for a solution to this. I do keep in touch on a regular basis with our Bayan Moderators regarding this problem. Sana lang di sila makulitan sa pag inquire about this with them. :D

But knowing them, they are a very nice bunch of people. Angel

Yes. That is within the IP Blocks assigned to Bayan DSL.

I'm not sure about this pero I've heard people say na same lang ang internet backbone ng Bayantel ay SkyDSL.

BTW still had latency issue, around 600ms-700ms kaninang umaga around 8am-9am. Currently at work, but will check later when I get home.

Still no change. I've been waiting for Bayantel's reply to my email for 3 days now. And I just noticed a similar issue with Rapidshare, I made a tracert and it's the same problem as WoW. I won't post it here though since it's off-topic, but other members can try doing a tracert to rs313.rapidshare.com at peak hours and compare it to your WoW server tracerts and you'll see what I mean. Just wondering if the similarity can help us pinpoint the problem.

Like Mikos said, tracing the problem is difficult even if they knew where to begin. Reality check at hand is that Bayan is not optimized the way PLDT has regarding online games such as WoW.
At this time, whining is a moot point, even if we all are paying for the game. However this factoid is something to keep in mind. Both companies have different resources and capabilities that can matter enough
to what is important to us. It's not that Bayan doesn't care. Perhaps, reality is, Bayan was just not meant for online game reliability. Those like me who have no current choice but Bayan (or SkyDSL) the reality is harsh.
But accepting that and deciding what to do about it is still our choice, within our power. Perhaps an easier obvious choice to quit WoW in the meantime is there.

But if you're like me...Arthas is there. On that throne. It's not something I can't walk away from. I will always look forward to when I can raid from house again. But until then. It's a matter of managing what resources are available to you. And how far you are willing to go. It's not the circumstance, it's how we respond to that circumstance.

Confirmed, latency is higher than initially reported on this thread. Feedback anyone?

Edit: Btw, there is a question unanswered here for the long time. How come the problem just suddenly occurred? =) I honestly do not support the PLDT vs Bayan argument, because I've been playing WoW with a Bayan account for quite awhile alraady. Service was okay until recently..

Just logged in after the brief realm maintenance in Barthilas. 3k~3.5k latency in Dalaran.

No one is saying that. It is not even an argument. I even made it clear that there have been no legal breaches whatsoever in the process of resolving or how the problem came about. It is simply the way it is... There is a problem, and there is difficulty in tracing where the problem is.

Technology is not perfect. Although I would understand why you would remark that it used to work before then suddenly it doesn't anymore. A common stance that most uninitiated will take. I cannot blame you though. After all, we are all paying the service and we are bound to ask those questions.

A Moderator's word:

After seeing all that has happened in the Forum regarding online games, I cannot help but release this post.

For the past weeks, I have seen people come forward with their complains regarding online games. Some are very courteous, even patient. My heart goes out to them. If I can do some more, I would have done so. I am certain the rest of the moderators would have done the same.

Others, to a certain extent, became unruly, rule breakers, bent by their frustration to a point where they have to stoop so low. On the one hand, I cannot blame them. Like the rest of the subscribers they also pay for their DSL service. Thus their right to get what is due them, and to demand for it.

On the one hand, I cannot help but also be pitiful for those bent by these circumstances. I have often believed that no person should be changed by circumstance in the wrong way. Anger can be expressed in a righteous manner, in an educated way, in a dignified manner. I have seen people hit by far greater devastating problems, yet they remain dignified all throughout. Internetboss is right. We do control how we respond to these situations. People are the ones that change circumstances, not the other way around. Yet I have seen so many, bent and even stooped so low by the recent problem. To them, I can only be pitiful.

I know Bayan is doing its part. In my conversations with those working for Bayan, time and again they have told me there is really a difficulty knowing where the problem is. From a technical perspective, it is plausible. Other ISP's may have solved it faster, but then again, how they did it, is a matter of trade secrets which cannot be exchanged. It is a part of their business. It is merely doing what Bayan would have done to protect its own business, its own subscribers. Reality check, Bayan is like the rest of the ISPs whose facilities are not yet that wide compared to a telecomms giant. Thus it can only see a part of the problem. It will naturally incur stumbling blocks. On the other hand, it doesn't mean though that they will not do something about it. For if they don't, they will lose customers. And we all know they don't want that. Patience is indeed a virtue.

Bottom line: as a subscriber, who wants to have problems left unanswered? Bottom line: as a DSL company, who wants to lose customers or clients? Bottom line: we are all heading the same way. Bottom line: we are all in that direction. Bottom line: we all need to be patient. We all need to work together.

How we face the problem is up to us. How we react to it, is all up to us. I know Bayan listens. If the problem is not solved, then by all means, keep complaining. Subscribers cannot be silent about the problems they go thru with their DSL for that will not solve anything. Yet we also must be dignified in doing the complaining. It is part of our nature to grumble. That is just being human. To be dignified however, will set us apart from the rest of creation. After all, we are also dealing with people. They just so happen to be on the other side of the fence, just like we do too when we face our own clients at work or any where else. We all have our decisions, we all have choices.

It is an argument in a different context as because of the fact people are discussing about them. =) just clarifying that.

Anyway, what are the difficulties in isolating the problem?

The first thing I presumed was peering with at&t like:
e.g.:
1.Bayan to AT&T was fine before, it means whatever their arrangement is, was working fine.
2.Problem occurred, so maybe the arrangement/agreement/peering between Bayan and AT&T changed. Probably transit issues? =)

A problem would always have an appropriate solution, with regards to technology per se.

Really hoping for a resolution on this matter. Would appreciate if you can give an update soon.

Edit: This thread has been seen as between Bayan and Online game(wow). What if we look the other way around "BAYAN to AT&T" ? What are the steps made to contact AT&T?
