since last week i have been an unplayable latency for world of warcraft, 700-1000+ms and auto dc's in raids. i have been waiting patiently for bayan to fix this but it seems nothing has been done. been stable before this with 300-400+ ping. I think bayan should consult with its peers to resolve this. They surely are aware of this issue since a lot of people are already complaining. Hope they dont disappoint.

i think the DSL in general because even yahoo lags. i recall some people complaining of the packet loss and stuff, and i think that happens when the handover is from ISP to ISP. im not sure though. hope bayantel really listens to us. we have been subscribers for years and even recommended bayantel to our friends as the best ISP to play WOW on.

report that problem on Bayantel's Customer Support..
1 RTO = can kill you on Online Game
xD specially if the RTO is persisted inside the bayantel's internet gateways, if not try using proxy server.

[right]i know that the problem may be with bayantel's peering partners but it is still bayantel's responsibility to coordinate with them regarding this issue. i mean, please dont tell us that the problem is 'outside' bayantel and 'none of our business', becasue what would be the internet for --- browsing local sites? what if the problem would be with bayantel's other international functions, lets say securities and international banking? would you tell us too that it is 'none of our business'?
come on bayantel, i saw the forums and A LOT OF PEOPLE are already complaining. we have been loyal customers for years and even referred bayantel to our friends as the best ISP to play World of warcraft in. im sure you can do something. please dont prove us wrong.

narinig ko na yan issue na yan,.. na si PLDT daw e super lag connection sa WOW.. well same aspect hindi control.
parang ganito yan sa MRT my first priority, my second and so on...

Unfortunately, there is no ISP in the world that will allow you to do that. You can forward your complains still via the technical support hotline, either thru phone or email (customersupport@bayan.com.ph).

Hmm.. How come we were satisfied before? As mentioned in the other thread "unusual" high latency which is defined as it is. I've been a subscriber for awhile already. And i was satisfied, but then it started a couple of weeks back. Now tell us, are you downgrading the good service you provided before?

Nowhere in these 2 threads about this topic have we stated that we expected our connections to perform like a T1 connection. This is not an issue about being a residential line, other residential ISP's aren't having this problem right now. Our connections performed fine until 2 weeks ago, so obviously a problem occured then.
All of us Bayantel subscribers here have the same problem which started at the same time. We have already contacted Blizzard about this and sent them our tracerts and they concluded that there is a problem with Bayantel's peering partners. I have contacted the tech support of Blizzard and they advised me to ask Bayantel to check with their peering partners or possibly reroute the connection. It's an ISP's responsibility to coordinate with their peering partners, so the answer of "we can't do anything because this is outside our network" is unnacceptable.

im temporarily using a sun broadband USB.. and albeit mataas latency 500ms ingame, its playable kasi hindi nagpapacket loss.. and may guildmates ako na nagrurun using pldt, normal lang ang connection sa kanila. Most WOW players here in the philippines are upper class people and understand how latency<->bandwith<->packetloss works, we know what you mean.. and we keep reiterating na yung problema, nagstart lang 1-2 weeks ago. look at the other threads, hindi ba nakakapagtaka na bakit ang daming umaangal sa latency bigla? and hindi sila pare parehas na users.. may iba call of duty ang inaangal, iba street fighter, iba whatever.. What we only ask of our dear moderators is to pass the information to IT. And ask for any updates or acknowledgments or any information lang about the cause.

Maayos naman connection speed ko as far as speedtest is concerned.

Just to set the expectations here. This is a Forum where majority (95%) are subscribers. The remaining 5% are either Forumers who have signed up although they are not subscribers, some happens to be friends of subscribers, the rest are employees of Bayan or BayanDSL. It is managed by two sets of moderators: Bayan Moderators (employees of Bayan Telecommunications who are subscribers of BayanDSL) and External Moderators (subscribers invited to be moderators in the Forum).
The most you can get here are: discussions of many topics, tips and how tos on many stuff that otherwise is not supported by the main technical arm of BayanDSL (the technical support hotline) like router configurations, gaming console set ups, etc; follow ups are done also thru our Bayan Moderators or BayanDSL Forumers (who are subscribers who happen to be employees also of Bayan Telecommunications). I know though that management of Bayan reads the post in the Forum. We do know their usernames here although those info are not for the general public but it is just limited to the moderators.
Now when you email your tracerts to customersupport@bayan.com.ph, this already goes to the technical support and customer support bucket. This is then sorted out and routed accordingly, like if the problem needs to be responded to by NOC (Network Operations Center) or the Data Center, etc.
Thus, the IT of "Bayan DSL" may be aware of this already if you guys have forwarded your tracerts to customersupport@bayan.com.ph. The most that our Bayan Moderators can do is just to follow this up with the technical support hotline internally speaking.

My remark about our connections not being T1 connections is in response to the badgering done by Christer on another moderator. The moderator was pretty clear about his response.
Incidentally, my nephew plays online games. I guess this is just game specific and not in general since he is able to play his games also, at least during his "game time" as I do control that technically speaking.
The problem though is not that easy to pin point nor that easy to troubleshoot as there are a lot of factors involved with it. It is not a simple coordinating with peering partners. Further more there are games that other competitors are the ones in direct control of it. In the business world, this is what they call a marketing strategy. I am not saying though there is no problem and that nothing can be done. It just so happens that the problem is not that simple.

If I'm reading you statement correctly, your telling us to stop our subscription to Bayantel and just go use other ISP provider. Your liking BayanDSL to the MRT and it's business process, then it's easy to assume that the other mode of transport your referring to, Taxi, Bus, Jeep are other ISP providers. Pls don't tempt us anymore than it already is. I can understand your desire to shout out, being a moderator, it must be tiring to see the same topic over and over again, but in the end this is due to the lack of response coming from Bayantel's side. The topic regarding the gaming latency has been going on for more than 2 weeks now and we(subscribers) have given all details needed, tracerts, response from Blizzard techs, etc, but there is still no concrete explanation/action/response coming from BayanDSL side. If there is an issue, explain the details and give a rough ETC (Estimated Time of Completion). At the moment people are left hanging and we don't know what to do/expect because of this. I guess one of the reasons that we're so "concerned" about this issue is because playing WoW is not free, as you know there is a monthly premium that we pay to play the game. This would the be 3rd week that the issue has been running, a few more days and that would be a month, which would mean that the money we spent to play WoW for this month has been wasted. best regard, jruz
