If I'm reading you statement correctly, your telling us to stop our subscription to Bayantel and just go use other ISP provider. Your liking BayanDSL to the MRT and it's business process, then it's easy to assume that the other mode of transport your referring to, Taxi, Bus, Jeep are other ISP providers. Pls don't tempt us anymore than it already is. I can understand your desire to shout out, being a moderator, it must be tiring to see the same topic over and over again, but in the end this is due to the lack of response coming from Bayantel's side. The topic regarding the gaming latency has been going on for more than 2 weeks now and we(subscribers) have given all details needed, tracerts, response from Blizzard techs, etc, but there is still no concrete explanation/action/response coming from BayanDSL side. If there is an issue, explain the details and give a rough ETC (Estimated Time of Completion). At the moment people are left hanging and we don't know what to do/expect because of this. I guess one of the reasons that we're so "concerned" about this issue is because playing WoW is not free, as you know there is a monthly premium that we pay to play the game. This would the be 3rd week that the issue has been running, a few more days and that would be a month, which would mean that the money we spent to play WoW for this month has been wasted. best regard, jruz Very well said^^

The able moderator was merely implying that we do have choices. Plain and simple. If that is how you take it, that is understandable. Forums are known to be behest with hermeneutical problems between moderators and members. After all, a Forum is a discussion place and that is bound to occur.
The problem though is not that simple as I pointed in another thread. Online games have more factors involved with them, not just a simple peering check as advised by Blizzard (which another Forumer already pointed out in another thread). We all know that some online games are directly controlled by another competitor, a marketing strategy. Furthermore, I would understand why Bayan is silent on this since the problem is really difficult to handle considering there are so many things to take into consideration thus pin pointing the cause and trying to fix it (granting it is something within the control of Bayan) is really difficult. As one moderator pointed out when we had our discussions, verifying the cause of the problem is something very hard as mere tracerts sometimes to do not indicate where the problem lies. To the technically initiated they will understand what I mean by this.
The moderator simply pointed out that residential lines are just third in priority in terms of bandwidth allotment. Online games are just one internet application. Though I understand that the game entails money. Thus, the complain on it. I do understand also from another perspective that we all have choices. That is what is merely being implied.
Furthermore, just to set the expectations, this is a Forum. While this is under Bayan Telecommunications, 95% of the people you meet here are your fellow subscribers. It just so happens that some happens to be employed also by Bayan. You are still dealing with your fellow subscribers, moderator or no moderator. The only difference some are employed at Bayan and can make follow ups on certain issues. Other than that, this is still a Forum. That is just about it.

Let us all please stop discussions that could start an argument between forumers and moderators. Main point: WoW players are waiting for Bayan's feedback about why this has suddenly occurred and then proceed to an appropriate solution.

Your connection problems are between Bayandsl and Blizzard's ISP. Depending on which internet provider you and Blizzard(AT&T?) use, your connection may cross half the world before reaching the server even if you lived next door to their datacenter. Mikos wrote:LeV wrote: im temporarily using a sun broadband USB.. and albeit mataas latency 500ms ingame, its playable kasi hindi nagpapacket loss.. and may guildmates ako na nagrurun using pldt, normal lang ang connection sa kanila.
Most WOW players here in the philippines are upper class people and understand how latency<->bandwith<->packetloss works, we know what you mean.. and we keep reiterating na yung problema, nagstart lang 1-2 weeks ago.
look at the other threads, hindi ba nakakapagtaka na bakit ang daming umaangal sa latency bigla? and hindi sila pare parehas na users.. may iba call of duty ang inaangal, iba street fighter, iba whatever..
What we only ask of our dear moderators is to pass the information to IT. And ask for any updates or acknowledgments or any information lang about the cause.
Just to set the expectations here. This is a Forum where majority (95%) are subscribers. The remaining 5% are either Forumers who have signed up although they are not subscribers, some happens to be friends of subscribers, the rest are employees of Bayan or BayanDSL. It is managed by two sets of moderators: Bayan Moderators (employees of Bayan Telecommunications who are subscribers of BayanDSL) and External Moderators (subscribers invited to be moderators in the Forum).
The most you can get here are: discussions of many topics, tips and how tos on many stuff that otherwise is not supported by the main technical arm of BayanDSL (the technical support hotline) like router configurations, gaming console set ups, etc; follow ups are done also thru our Bayan Moderators or BayanDSL Forumers (who are subscribers who happen to be employees also of Bayan Telecommunications). I know though that management of Bayan reads the post in the Forum. We do know their usernames here although those info are not for the general public but it is just limited to the moderators.
Now when you email your tracerts to customersupport@bayan.com.ph, this already goes to the technical support and customer support bucket. This is then sorted out and routed accordingly, like if the problem needs to be responded to by NOC (Network Operations Center) or the Data Center, etc.
Thus, the IT of "Bayan DSL" may be aware of this already if you guys have forwarded your tracerts to customersupport@bayan.com.ph. The most that our Bayan Moderators can do is just to follow this up with the technical support hotline internally speaking. Thank you for your reply.. as suggested i've sent an email to customersupport@bayan.com.ph.. may i know if the old csdip@bayan.com.ph is still working? hopefully things would get better in the comming days.

Amazing. I'm still awaiting the reply from bayantel. Our last correspondence was 2 days ago.
On another note, everyone please compare your tracerts to that of the moderator kupalkah. If that tracer from kupalkah is true, then I'm going to demand that they change our routes, it seems that the vast majority of us are getting treated unfairly.

napansin ko rin sa ibang online games na nasa abroad yung servers tumaas yung latency...
PyroMU (private mu server) hosted sa US... from 300+ms ngayun 500+ms na...
so far LOCAL OL gaming (including GARENA) walang problema what so ever...
kawawa talaga yung mga GAMERS na naglalaro ng OL game na nasa abroad ang servers... sana di lahat affected... kawawa especially yung nagbabayad ng monthly like THIS GAME (WOW)...

since 1ms lang ang latency mo sa 3rd and 4th hop.. it indicates that you are connected at the main servers ng bayantel which means you are currently working inside bayantel itself.. and since 160-170 lang latency mo .. it seems that bayantel has no problems with peering to us servers.. and since people are smart enough, obviously ang problema is masyadong congested na yung mga lines na binibigay nyo samin and as ive been pointing out in previous posts, just allow us to connect to the other servers [like we can before] para bumilis naman ang latency namin. thank you for answering all our questions [albeit indirectly] khupalkah

This would the be 3rd week that the issue has been running, a few more days and that would be a month, which would mean that the money we spent to play WoW for this month has been wasted.
best regard, jruz
kung yan ang pagkaka-intindi mo... go... hindi ako tututol.. so much for bayantel DSL support....

Let me make it clear that this is a Forum and not an online technical support. There is a big difference between the Forum and an online technical support. That is in the rules. I hope you are aware of that.
The able bodied moderator is just acknowledging that we all have choices.
FLAMERS shall be severely sanctioned!!! Please lang MATINONG TANONG LANG SANA ANG ITANONG instead of NONSENSE ONES. The Forum is NOT an Online Technical Support. For your DSL/Phone concerns please call the hot lines FIRST before posting it in the Forum. This includes requests for port resets, DSL connection footprints (ATT and SNRs), requests for technicians and repairs. Please read the Bayan Forum Rules. If the post is in size 6 or big sized font, it means I am addressing you as a moderator. If the post is in the default size, it means I am Mikos the plain subscriber. Bayan Forum Rules
